Washable RugsIf your area rug is a small rug with a tag labeled "machine washable," you should toss that dude into the washing machine after giving it a good shakedown on the front porch about once per month. It is generally acceptable to use warm water, a mild detergent, and a tumble dry on the lowest heat setting. Check the tag for specifics!
Large Area RugsIf you can, shake this one outside first too. Lay it over a clothesline, railing, tree branch, etc and beat it to get the clingy dust out. Then you can bring it back inside and vacuum it thoroughly. Be careful if your area rug has special fringes. If this is the case, begin by vacuuming the middle of the rug, and work your way outwards, being careful to avoid catching the fringes in the cleaner. Lift the fringes up and vacuum under the edges of the rug for good measure. Our rug cleaning experts can dry clean the crud out of your rug, and are on standby if you'd rather have it done professionally! Call us now, and let's get it done!
